Scheduled tasks
Run an agent once or on a repeating schedule, then review every result from the Scheduled page.
Create a task#
- 1Open Scheduled from the sidebar.
- 2Choose New task and give the task a clear name and prompt.
- 3Pick VideoDraft mode or Code mode, then choose the agent, model, thinking level, and project.
- 4Choose Manual to run it on demand, or Once for a single future run. For a repeating job, pick Hourly, Daily, Weekdays, or Weekly.
- 5Review the next-run preview and save the task.
How scheduled runs behave#
- Scheduled runs use the Auto permission mode, so they cannot stop to ask for permission.
- Each run creates a chat you can inspect from the Scheduled page.
- ADE must be open for a task to fire at its exact time.
- Due tasks catch up on the next launch if your Mac was asleep.
- Enable Keep computer awake if exact timing matters. The display can still sleep.
Unattended runs cannot ask a follow-up question
Write the prompt so it stands alone. Name the input location, the expected output, and what counts as success. Say what to do when a source file is missing.
Good scheduled jobs#
- Create three social video concepts every Monday from a standing brand brief.
- Generate a daily summary of new media placed in an intake folder.
- Prepare a weekly shot backlog and flag missing references.
- Run a one-time overnight render or batch generation job.
