Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 11, 2026

1. Who We Are and What This Covers

VideoDraft AI Inc. ("VideoDraft," "we," "our," or "us") is a Delaware corporation based in California. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with when you use our website (videodraft.ai), VideoDraft Studio (app.videodraft.ai), the VideoDraft ADE app for Mac (including VideoDraft Editor and VD Code), the videodraft command line tool, and our MCP connector and API (together, the "Services"). We are the data controller for this information. Questions: contact@videodraft.ai.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Account: name, email address, and sign-in details (Google sign-in or email and password).
  • Onboarding answers: your role, type of organization, and how you found us.
  • Billing: your payment card and billing address are collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We keep your plan, credit balance, and transaction history.
  • Content: scripts, prompts, images, audio, video, code, project files, and anything else you upload or create. This can include recordings of your voice and photos of people when you use voice cloning, avatar, lip sync, or character features.
  • Messages: feedback you send from the product (including screenshots or files you attach), support emails, demo requests, and waitlist sign-ups.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser or app version, operating system, pages and features used, and timestamps.
  • Product analytics: we use PostHog to understand how the Services are used. In VideoDraft Studio, a sample of sessions is recorded (page interactions and the requests the app makes) so we can find and fix problems. Form fields are masked in these recordings.
  • Error reports: we use Sentry to collect crash and error reports, which can include a replay of the session in which the error happened.
  • Website cookies: described in our Cookie Policy. Analytics cookies on videodraft.ai are only set if you accept them.

3. VideoDraft ADE (Mac App)

Most of what you do in VideoDraft ADE stays on your Mac: your chats, tasks, projects, terminals, checkpoints, and VideoDraft Editor projects are stored locally, and we do not sync or back them up. This table shows what leaves your Mac and where it goes.

The app asks for macOS permissions (microphone, screen recording, accessibility, notifications) only when a feature needs them. The app also uses the Codex sign-in stored on your Mac by the Codex command line tool; we do not send that credential anywhere.

Enterprise data privacy is a workspace setting. When a workspace owner turns it on, VD Code, dictation, AI chat titles, Computer Use, custom MCP servers, and product analytics are turned off for everyone in that workspace. It does not turn off error reporting or the generation tools you choose to use.

The videodraft command line tool sends anonymous usage data (command name, version, and operating system, never your prompts or content). You can turn this off with videodraft config set telemetry false.

4. How We Use Information

  • To provide the Services, including generating content with the AI models you choose.
  • To process payments, manage credits, and send account and billing messages.
  • To understand how the Services are used, fix problems, and improve them.
  • To respond to your messages and provide support.
  • To keep the Services secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms.
  • To comply with the law.

We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information. For users in the EEA and UK, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (running, securing, and improving the Services), your consent (for optional features such as analytics cookies and dictation), and our legal obligations.

5. Who We Share Information With

Service providers

  • Supabase: database and sign-in (United States)
  • Google Cloud: media storage, content delivery, and video rendering (United States)
  • Vercel: application hosting (United States, India, and France)
  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions
  • Resend: transactional email
  • PostHog: product analytics and session recording (United States)
  • Sentry: error reporting (United States)
  • Google Analytics: website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies
  • Deepgram: live transcription for dictation in VideoDraft ADE

AI model providers

When you use a generation feature, your prompt and any media you provide are sent to the provider that runs the model you selected, and the result is sent back to you. Providers change as we add and remove models. They currently include:

  • Google (Gemini, Imagen, Veo, Lyria, and Google Cloud speech and translation services)
  • OpenAI (GPT Image, Sora, Whisper, and text-to-speech)
  • fal, which hosts models from Kuaishou (Kling), ByteDance (Seedance, Seedream), MiniMax, Alibaba (Wan), VEED, Sync Labs, ElevenLabs, xAI (Grok), Black Forest Labs (Flux), Recraft, Ideogram, Topaz, Meshy, and Tripo
  • BytePlus (Seedance), Replicate, and Luma AI

Some of these providers are based outside the United States, including in Singapore and China. Media is shared as web links that include your account ID in the file path. Where a provider offers it, we use business terms under which they do not train on your content, but each provider's own privacy practices apply. If you connect your own API key for a provider (for example, fal or ElevenLabs), your requests go to that provider under your own account.

Your own AI agent providers

In VideoDraft ADE, agents you connect with your own accounts (Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, or API providers such as Google AI Studio, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, and OpenCode Zen) receive your prompts, files, and code directly from your Mac. Their privacy policies and account settings, including any settings about training on your data, govern that information. Some of these providers store data outside the United States.

Other sharing

  • People you share with: collaborators in your projects and workspaces can see the content you share and your name and email. Anyone with a public link can view the project or session you shared.
  • Stock media search: your search terms (not your identity) go to Pexels, Pixabay, and Storyblocks.
  • Legal and safety: we may share information to comply with the law, protect our rights, or protect the safety of our users and others.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of it.

6. Voice and Face Data

Voice cloning, avatar, lip sync, and character features process recordings of voices and images of faces, which may be treated as biometric or sensitive data under some laws. We only process this data to provide the feature you asked for, and we do not sell it or use it to identify people. Only clone your own voice or use recordings and photos of people who have given you permission. We keep voice samples, cloned voice models, and uploaded photos while your account is active, for up to three years after you last used the Services, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Model providers that create the clone may also hold a copy under their own terms.

7. Where Your Information Is Processed

We are based in the United States, and our main databases are there. Parts of the Services also run in India and France, and the AI model providers listed above process data in the United States, Singapore, and other countries where they operate. Where the law requires safeguards for transfers, for example from the EEA or UK, we rely on standard contractual clauses or the provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, encrypted storage of API keys you save with us, and access controls. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep your tokens and API keys private. Generated and uploaded media is stored at web addresses that are hard to guess but can be opened by anyone who has the address.

9. How Long We Keep Information

  • Account and content: while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information and content within 30 days, except where we must keep it for legal, tax, or security reasons. Copies may remain in backups for a limited time afterward.
  • Billing records: up to seven years, as required for tax and accounting.
  • Analytics events: up to seven years. Session recordings: 90 days.
  • Error reports and server logs: a limited rolling period, normally under 90 days.
  • Voice and face data: as described in section 6.
  • Local data in VideoDraft ADE: stays on your Mac until you delete it, including after you sign out or uninstall the app.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email contact@videodraft.ai from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days, and you can appeal our decision by replying to our response.

  • Website cookies: accept or reject analytics cookies in the banner on videodraft.ai.
  • Telemetry: turn on Enterprise data privacy in your workspace to stop product analytics in VideoDraft ADE and Studio, or turn off CLI telemetry as described in section 3.
  • Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: we do not currently respond to these browser signals.
  • Marketing email: we do not currently send marketing email. If we start, every message will include an unsubscribe link.

11. Children

The Services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top, and we will email you about material changes.
