Install ADE
Install VideoDraft ADE on your Mac, connect an agent and pick your first tutorial.
What you need#
- An Apple silicon Mac with macOS 15 or later. VideoDraft Editor comes with ADE.
- A VideoDraft account.
- An agent. VD Code comes with your VideoDraft plan. You can also connect Claude Code or Codex with your own sign-in, Grok Build, or OpenCode with your own API key.
Install and connect#
- 1Download VideoDraft and move it to Applications.
- 2Open VideoDraft and sign in to your VideoDraft account.
- 3Open Settings > Providers and connect an agent, or choose VD Code. ADE installs what the agent needs.
Claude Code and Codex use your existing sign-in
If you already use them in Terminal, ADE picks up that sign-in. Otherwise run claude auth login or codex login, or sign in from Settings > Providers.
Pick your first tutorial#
Pick a mode before you start a chat: click the mode name at the top of the sidebar, or press Cmd + O. A chat keeps the mode it started in.
Keep VideoDraft up to date#
VideoDraft checks for updates on its own, downloads them in the background and asks to restart when one is ready. To check now, choose VideoDraft > Check for Updates… in the menu bar, or click Check now in Settings > Updates.
