Projects and tasks

Organize work so every agent has the right files and a clear scope.

On this page

Projects hold related work#

A project is a top-level item in the sidebar. Use one for a film, campaign, client or code repository. Click the folder icon next to Projects to add one.

The Projects menu. New project makes a project ADE manages, Open folder… uses a folder you already have, and Clone GitHub repo… copies a repository to your Mac.

Give each outcome its own task#

A task is one piece of work with its own chats and files. Some menus call a task a workspace, such as Link workspaces. Keep revisions of one deliverable in one task, and start a new task when the goal changes.

Where files go#

  • Put scripts, briefs, shot lists and notes in the task folder.
  • Put images, video and audio in media/.
Example task folder

Link more folders#

An agent can read and write outside its task once you link a folder. Click + in the message box and choose Link workspaces, or type /add-dir. Pick another task from any project, or any folder on your Mac.

  • Linked folders show as chips above the message box. Remove one there.
  • Links belong to the task, so every chat in it can use them, even after a restart.

Choose which mode lists a project#

To list a project or task in VideoDraft mode, Code mode or both, right-click it and choose Show in. A task can also use its project’s setting.
