Prompts, instructions and skills
Save prompts you send often, and teach agents how your project works.
Pick the right place#
| Use | For |
|---|---|
| Prompt Library | A prompt you want to reuse, edit and send again. |
| Project instruction files | Rules every agent should follow in a project. Each agent reads its own file, such as AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md. |
| Skill | A step-by-step procedure an agent loads when a task needs it. |
| Project settings | Setup and run commands for code projects. |
Save and reuse a prompt#
- 1Press Cmd + P, or click Prompts in the message box.
- 2Click New prompt. Give it a title and the text, then click Add prompt.
- 3Click a saved prompt to put it in the message box. Long prompts attach as a text file.
- 4Edit the details, then send.
Choosing a prompt does not send it
It only fills the message box, so you can check it first.
A prompt worth saving#
Review a cut
Review the exported video at [path]. Check the opening, pacing, continuity, readable text, audio and last frame. List the few changes that would help most. Do not change the timeline until I pick the changes.Mark the parts you replace each time with brackets. Never put passwords or keys in saved prompts or instruction files.
Skills#
A skill is a folder of instructions an agent loads when a task needs it. ADE installs two when it starts, and every agent can use them.
| Skill | What it teaches |
|---|---|
| videodraft | Making video, images, audio and 3D, and working in VideoDraft Editor. |
| videodraft-ade | Reading other chats and tasks in ADE. |
To add your own, make a folder with a SKILL.md file inside a skills folder, such as .claude/skills in your project. It shows up when you type /.
