Providers and usage limits

Connect Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build, OpenCode, or VD Code, and see how much of each limit is left.

On this page

Connect a provider#

Open Settings > Providers. Each provider has its own tab, and you can connect more than one. Pick the model inside a chat, because the model list changes between releases.

VD Code usage limits#

  • VD Code has a weekly usage limit that is separate from your VideoDraft credits.
  • The 7-day window starts with your first use. When it closes, the full limit comes back at once.
  • Higher plans get higher limits. The pricing page lists the limit for each plan.
  • At the limit the chat stops with Usage limit hit. Wait for the window to close, move to a higher plan, or continue in a new chat with another provider.
  • Media the agent generates, such as images, video, and voice, still spends credits whichever provider you use.

Check your usage#

If your Codex account includes usage resets, the Codex tab shows Usage resets available with a count. Choose Reset usage, then Use 1 reset, to reset your eligible Codex limits right away. Checking again never spends a second reset.

Skills every agent gets#

A skill is a folder of instructions an agent loads when a task calls for it. ADE installs two skills at launch.

  • Both go into ~/.claude/skills and ~/.codex/skills. videodraft-ade also goes into ~/.agents/skills.
  • OpenCode, VD Code, and Grok Build read the same folders.
  • Add your own by putting a folder with a SKILL.md file under a skills folder in .claude, .agents, .opencode, or .grok, in the project or your home folder. It appears in the / menu.
