Providers and usage limits
Connect Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build, OpenCode, or VD Code, and see how much of each limit is left.
Connect a provider#
Open Settings > Providers. Each provider has its own tab, and you can connect more than one. Pick the model inside a chat, because the model list changes between releases.
| Provider | How you connect | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Code | The sign-in from your Claude CLI (claude auth login), or an API key. | Remote control from your phone or the browser, and handing work to Codex. |
| Codex | The sign-in from your Codex CLI (codex login), or an API key. | Long-running goals with /goal, and Computer Use. |
| Grok Build | Sign in with Grok. | Shows your Grok usage and prepaid extra usage credits in ADE. |
| OpenCode | Your own API key from Google AI Studio, DeepSeek, xAI, OpenRouter, or OpenCode Zen. | Auto, Plan, and Ask modes. Plan asks before reading files and blocks edits. |
| VD Code | Your VideoDraft account. Sign in to VideoDraft first. | Managed by VideoDraft, so it needs no other AI subscription. It has a weekly usage limit. |
Enterprise data privacy turns some providers off
When your VideoDraft workspace manages Enterprise data privacy, VD Code and Grok Build are unavailable.
VD Code usage limits#
- VD Code has a weekly usage limit that is separate from your VideoDraft credits.
- The 7-day window starts with your first use. When it closes, the full limit comes back at once.
- Higher plans get higher limits. The pricing page lists the limit for each plan.
- At the limit the chat stops with Usage limit hit. Wait for the window to close, move to a higher plan, or continue in a new chat with another provider.
- Media the agent generates, such as images, video, and voice, still spends credits whichever provider you use.
Check your usage#
| Where | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Usage pill | At the bottom of the left sidebar. It shows how much of your current limit is used. Click it to open Usage Limits. |
| Usage Limits | A tab for each connected provider: Claude, Codex, Grok, and VideoDraft. The VideoDraft tab shows Available credits, Monthly credits, and VD Code weekly, with Buy credits. |
| Dashboard | Open it from the sidebar or Command Center. It charts Daily activity, Token usage over time, and Usage by model. |
If your Codex account includes usage resets, the Codex tab shows Usage resets available with a count. Choose Reset usage, then Use 1 reset, to reset your eligible Codex limits right away. Checking again never spends a second reset.
Skills every agent gets#
A skill is a folder of instructions an agent loads when a task calls for it. ADE installs two skills at launch.
| Skill | What it teaches |
|---|---|
| videodraft | Creating video, images, audio, and 3D, and working in VideoDraft Editor. |
| videodraft-ade | Reading other chats and tasks in ADE, and choosing between a subagent and a new chat. |
- Both go into ~/.claude/skills and ~/.codex/skills. videodraft-ade also goes into ~/.agents/skills.
- OpenCode, VD Code, and Grok Build read the same folders.
- Add your own by putting a folder with a SKILL.md file under a skills folder in .claude, .agents, .opencode, or .grok, in the project or your home folder. It appears in the / menu.
