Requirements#
- VideoDraft ADE and VideoDraft Editor require an Apple silicon Mac on macOS 15 or later. This applies to both Vibe Film and Vibe Code.
- A VideoDraft account to sign in to ADE and use the production tools.
- An agent connection: Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build, OpenCode with your own API key, or managed VD Code with your VideoDraft account.
- Claude Code and Codex can use their existing local sign-ins. Grok Build signs in with Grok. Choose VD Code through your VideoDraft account.
Install and connect#
- 1Download the latest signed macOS release and move VideoDraft to Applications. Requires an Apple silicon Mac on macOS 15 or later.
- 2Open VideoDraft and sign in to your VideoDraft account.
- 3Connect a provider from Settings > Providers, or choose VD Code through your VideoDraft account. ADE manages the required agent runtime.
- 4Choose VideoDraft mode for Vibe Film, or Code mode for Vibe Code.
- 5Create a project, open a folder, or clone a repository.
Provider sign-in stays local
Claude Code and Codex use the sign-in from their own CLI on your Mac. Run claude auth login or codex login in Terminal, or connect a provider from Settings > Providers.
Choose your first task#
Choose the guide for the work you want to do. Both modes use projects, tasks, chats, and files in ADE.
Start with Vibe Film#
- 1Select VideoDraft mode in ADE. This is the mode used for Vibe Film.
- 2Create a project and a task for the production. Add a brief, script, references, or footage.
- 3Choose an agent and describe the result you want. Review the plan and generated assets as the work develops.
- 4When the task needs an edit, open VideoDraft Editor to review or adjust the native timeline.
Create three visual directions for a 20-second product teaser.
Save a concise treatment and generate one keyframe for each direction.Keep the production together
Keep documents in the task and generated media under media/. Open the editor when you want to assemble or refine a cut.
Start with Vibe Code#
- 1Select Code mode in ADE.
- 2Create a project, open an existing folder, or clone a repository. Add the brief and references the agent needs.
- 3Choose an agent and give it a concrete software task. Ask it to explain the approach before making changes when you want to review the plan.
- 4Run the project and inspect the diff. For Git-backed work, review the changes before committing or opening a pull request.
Read this project and explain how the account page works.
Then propose a small accessibility improvement and wait for my feedback before editing.Choose the right file scope
Git-backed tasks can use separate branches and worktrees. Opened folders are edited in place, and chats in the same task share its files.
Keep VideoDraft current#
Release builds check for signed updates shortly after launch, then every five minutes. They download in the background and offer to restart when one is ready.
To check by hand, use VideoDraft > Check for Updates from the menu bar, or Settings > General > Check now. Development builds never update themselves.
