Produce and export a video

Turn a storyboard into a video, fix any failed scenes and export.

Before you produce#

Start with a short script and storyboard you are happy with. Check references, dialogue and length first. AI Production is on the Pro plan and above, and Produce Video shows an estimate before it spends credits.

Pick how to produce#

Produce the scenes#

  1. 1Open the storyboard and click Produce.
  2. 2In Produce Video, choose AI Production.
  3. 3Leave Generate videos now on to make every scene’s video right away. Turn it off to set up each scene first and make the videos later.
  4. 4Check the estimate and click Produce.
  5. 5Watch each scene as it finishes.

AI Production writes its own narration for each scene. If your video must use a voiceover you recorded, make an animatic with it instead, or make the shots in AI Studio.

Fix failed scenes#

  1. 1Open the failed scene and read its error.
  2. 2Fix the cause, such as a missing reference or unsupported setting.
  3. 3Remake just that scene. Do not produce the whole video again for one failure.
  4. 4Replace any clip you do not like and play the cuts on either side of it.

Finish and export#

  1. 1Open the timeline and check the order, trims, narration, captions and music.
  2. 2Play it through and fix any clip that is missing or still processing.
  3. 3Click Export, render the video and wait for it to finish.
  4. 4Download the file and watch it to the end.

To finish the edit in another app, choose Export > Export XML: FCPXML for Final Cut Pro, or XML for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. It carries the edit, not a rendered video. Free plans see Upgrade to unlock.

Get help from VideoDraft Agent#

VideoDraft Agent in the sidebar can work on your video project with you. Name the scene, the change you want and what must stay the same, and check the result.
